Ferrari Formula 1 reserve driver Robert Schwartzman showed the best time during the Formula E rookie test in Berlin.
With a DS Penske, Robert was at the top of the protocol for both the morning and afternoon sessions. Shvartsman set his best lap during the day in 1:01.937 seconds, which is just two tenths slower than the best time at the Formula E round last race weekend.
Work on the track was interrupted twice by red flags – in the morning due to Dries Vantur, and in the afternoon the reason for stopping the session was Aston Martin reserve driver Felipe Drugovich.
In the morning session, Shvartsman set the best time in the first ten minutes of the session, 1:02.150 seconds. No one could surpass his result. Robert was 0.071 seconds faster in the Maserati than Drugovich, who in turn completed a lap 0.006 seconds faster than Mercedes reserve driver Frederic Vesti.
The red flags came after Vanthoor crashed his car in turn four. For Dries, the tests ended there.
In the afternoon session, Shvartsman again set the fastest time, which remained the best time of the day. Felipe Drugovich stopped on the track, causing red flags to appear. After the car was repaired, Drugovich continued to work.
The second time at the end of the session was driven by Jack Crawford driving Andretti’s team car. The top three was completed by 2022 DTM champion Sheldon van der Linde. Formula 2 driver Kush Maini set the fifth fastest time with a Mahindra. Formula 2 personal classification leader Zane Maloney finished eighth.
