The Ferrari team is preparing for its home race in Imola – this weekend the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix will be held again under the motto “Made in Italy”.
The Enzo and Dino Ferrari Circuit is an old-fashioned track and that’s why racers love it so much. The ring will be built in the city itself in a hilly area, which has an interesting topography, and its configuration favors high speeds.
The safety zones there are gravel, meaning any mistake will result in serious loss of time. There are not many overtaking opportunities, but on the start-finish straight, where the only DRS zone is located, they are still possible.
Frederik Vasseur, Team Boss: “After a number of races away from home, the European leg of the championship starts this weekend. The upcoming Grand Prix will be held in Imola, this circuit is closest to the Ferrari base in Maranello and is named after the founder of our company.
The weekend will be held in the usual format, three practices await us, so at this time we decided to present the first set of updates for our SF-24 this season. There will be a lot to do, because we will have to evaluate the effectiveness of all the new products, but at the same time we will work according to the usual program, preparing for qualifying and the race.
As always, we expect the competition to be very intense, so finding the optimal car settings is just as important as unlocking the potential for technical improvements.
Last year the race in Imola had to be cancelled, but now we are happy to return to this circuit to perform again for our fans, who will fill the stands. We are confident that we can show a good pace, we will fight at the front and try to satisfy the tifosi.”
