Alpine management continues to undergo reshuffles amid the crisis facing the team. Operations director Rob White, who worked at Enstone and Weary for 20 years, has been dismissed from his position.
Rob White has been Chief Operating Officer since 2016, but joined the team in 2004 as Deputy Director of the Wiry engines division. Before joining Renault, as the Alpine team was then known, White was head of Formula 1 engine production at Cosworth.
According to BBC Sport, boss Bruno Famen’s dismissal decision was communicated to the team on Wednesday, the week after the Monaco Grand Prix.
“As part of a wider operational restructuring of the team, we can confirm the departure of Rob White,” an Alpine spokesperson said. “The team is grateful to Rob for his long career at both Enstone and Viry-Chatillon, where he led the design of the championship-winning engine in 2005 and 2006.” We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
