Sergio Perez loses three positions at the start of the Spanish Grand Prix as punishment because he continued to drive on the track with a heavily damaged car during the unsafe race in Canada. The Red Bull Racing driver admits that this puts him at a disadvantage on a circuit where overtaking is difficult
Sergio Perez: “There is nothing good about losing positions at the start due to a penalty at a circuit like Barcelona. I will do my best to keep losses to a minimum.
The best position from which I can start is fourth. Qualifying is very important at this circuit, so you absolutely have to be at the top, and I don’t see any reason why we can’t do that.
I think the balance of power this weekend will be about the same as in Canada. Mercedes needs to be fast, so it will be interesting to see what results they achieve on this track. I think there will be three or four teams fighting for pole on Saturday.”
