The race in Barcelona was the second of the season in which the Aston Martin team did not earn any points. After the finish, both drivers admitted that the car did not have the speed to claim more.
Fernando Alonso (12th): “I’m disappointed that I couldn’t earn any points in front of my fans at home. We had problems with speed all weekend and the race was hampered by serious tire degradation.
The next stages will probably also be difficult, but we will continue to work hard to improve. Next weekend there is a race in Austria and then the team’s home round at Silverstone.”
Lance walk (14th): “We knew it would be difficult, but the race turned out to be difficult. The team opted for a two pit stop strategy and as expected tire wear had to be controlled for most of the distance.
We weren’t competitive enough this weekend, so we have to work before Austria to find some extra speed.”
