Lando Norris: Maybe that’s why I’m not on pole. We grew up with the weather like in qualifying. Over the whole weekend, the three of us were on average faster than the rest. We like these conditions.
I grew up in a very competitive environment… England has the highest competition for drivers in the junior series. The weather and the environment we grew up in played a big part.
George Russell: As Lando said, Britain has a very strong grassroots level of motorsport. We’re very fortunate to have so many great drivers. You spend your career pushing yourself to do your best, encouraging each other along the way. And I think a lot of great British racers in the past have inspired young people to get involved in racing.
