Adrian Newey’s partnership with Red Bull Racing ends in early 2025. The championship-winning team’s technical director Pierre Vache said Milton Keynes had already developed a plan for continuing work without the eminent engineer.
Pierre Vache: “We are sad to see Adrian leave, because this is a challenge for the whole company. We have no choice but to move on. From the outside, the situation seems the same, but we in the team know when and who is leaving, so we plan our future work in advance.
Of course, we would like to continue working with Adrian, but the situation is what it is. We don’t think about how bad it will be because of his departure, but we try to understand what we can do in such a situation and how we can improve it. If the team sees weaknesses, they try to eliminate them – that’s exactly how we work. We focus on getting better.
“We are not angry that he is leaving. Being angry will certainly not lead to victory. It would be one thing if everything in our team was built around one person, but that is not the case. At Red Bull, we have over 300 engineers who develop the car and make it faster.”
