Adidas and Puma fighting over the right to sponsor Audi?

Last spring, publications appeared in the European press that Adidas had already reached an agreement with Mercedes and would become a sponsor of the team next year.

However, there is no official confirmation and there is already talk that the famous manufacturer of sportswear, shoes and sports equipment will become a partner of another team that will enter Formula 1 in 2026. talking about Audi.

Furthermore, there is said to be a dispute behind the scenes between Adidas and Puma over the right to work with Audi, as reported by RacingNews365. It seems that Adidas has the advantage so far, especially since the rival company already works with Ferrari. The estimated volume of sponsorship support is estimated at $30 million per year.

Earlier this year, Adidas CEO Björn Gulden explained in an interview with Bild why the company now wants to enter Formula 1: “With three races in the US, this sport is in everyone’s sights, interest in it is growing, and Formula 1 is very big business. We are in negotiations with several teams, our plans are largely drawn up, but I cannot comment on them yet. As soon as such an opportunity arises, we will do so.”

By the way, since Gulden admitted that negotiations were held with several teams, this explains the rise of rumors about a possible contract with Mercedes. But apparently, even now there is no complete certainty – if the information about the rivalry between two German sports brands for the right to become a sponsor of Audi is true.
