Nico Müller, a 32-year-old driver from Switzerland, will drive for the Andretti team in the 11th season of Formula E and will be the new partner of Jake Dennis, last year’s world champion.
Today the American team announced that he will take the place of Norman Nato, with whom the end of the collaboration was announced at the end of last week.
Nico Müller: “I am very happy to be part of the Andretti Formula E team. The team has been successful since its early years in the championship, but especially during the technological partnership with Porsche Motorsport, when Formula E switched to third-generation cars.
It is an honour to work with Jake, a former world champion, and I am already looking forward to this opportunity. “I intend to do my best to contribute to the success of the team and hope to get on the podium and also take my first victory in Formula E.”
Nico finished the season in 12th place in the individual standings; his best result was fourth in the second race of the Italian weekend, but he showed impressive consistency over the last four rounds, finishing fifth once and sixth four times.
At the same time, he was noticeably ahead of his then ABT Cupra teammate, earning 52 points, while Lucas di Grassi, who won the Formula E title in 2017, had only four.
Müller stands out for his versatile racing background: he is a two-time DTM runner-up, but has also competed in the WEC, European Touring and even the World Rallycross Championship.
Although Dennis started the season as the reigning champion in the electric series, Andretti was unable to repeat last year’s success. According to Michael Andretti, CEO of Andretti Global, the team hopes to bounce back in 2025.
Michael Andretti: “We have high expectations for the eleventh season of Formula E and are confident that a driver of Nico’s calibre will help us achieve the results we need.
His experience and success in Formula E, as well as other top-level racing series, will be a key factor as we continue to strengthen our team and compete for race and championship victories.”
