McLaren driver Oscar Piastri has commented on the dismissal of his former youth series partner Logan Sargent…
Oscar Piastri: “Yesterday I sent him a message. He seems fine, although he is a bit shaken. It is clear that he has had a difficult time – much more difficult than it was for me when I came into Formula 1. I believe that his potential was much greater than what he showed in F1, for whatever reason.
I know first hand, since I was his partner in the youth series, how fast he is. I don’t think his dismissal was entirely unexpected. Taking Franco in his place is quite a bold move.
“I wish Logan the best of luck. It’s a shame that for some reason he couldn’t show everything he was capable of. In the junior series he was one of the fastest. His potential is much bigger than some people realize.”
