Adrien Newey will take on the new role of technical partner director of the Formula 1 team “Aston Martin” .
As stated on the team’s website, the British designer will take up his position on March 1, 2025. It was announced in the spring that Red Bull technical director Newey would leave the Red Bull team in the first quarter of next year.
– This is fantastic news. Adrian is the best in the world at what he does and I am incredibly proud to have him join our team. This is the biggest story since the Aston Martin name returned to the sport and it further confirms our ambitions to build a Formula 1 team capable of challenging for the title.
As soon as Adrian became available, we knew we had to invite him. “Our initial negotiations confirmed that we have a common desire to cooperate, this opportunity only comes once,” said Lawrence Stroll, owner of Aston Martin.
Newey has been with Red Bull since 2006. During that time the team has won the Constructors’ Championship six times.
