Lando Norris confidently won the Singapore Grand Prix, beating Max Verstappen to the finish by almost twenty-one seconds. Former Formula 1 driver David Coulthard was so impressed with Lando’s performance that he placed him alongside Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton and Ayrton Senna.
David Coulthard: “Lando demonstrated a masterclass in how to drive within inches of a wall without crashing the car. He perfected his skills. I was just surprised at how he locked up his wheels at the end of the lap and still hit the Tecpro barrier at Turn 14. Otherwise he drove flawlessly – we saw the driver and the car in perfect harmony.
Lando is so humble and so open. He doesn’t even realize at this point how great and meaningful his performances are. My voice is starting to shake as I say this, but I want to put Lando at his best in the same category as Senna, Schumacher and Hamilton.
Any driver can win a race with the right amount of luck, but in Singapore we saw an exceptional performance from Norris.”
