Norwegian Dennis Hauger will spend his third and final season in Formula 2 before moving abroad in 2025 and competing in the Indy NXT youth series for the Andretti Global team.
In F2, the 21-year-old driver from Oslo is in 9th place in the individual rankings. This season he has achieved one victory and been on the podium several times, but perhaps his most important achievement can be considered the Formula 3 championship title, which he won together with the Prema team in 2021. By the way, he was part of the Red Bull youth program at the time.
But now he will continue his career in the US with the clear aim of moving to IndyCar in a year or two. As a rule, when F2 drivers go to America, they go straight to the main championship, bypassing the youth series, which was previously called Indy Lite and is now being renamed Indy NXT, so this career turn is not entirely typical.
Dennis Hauger: “I am very grateful for the opportunity to play for Andretti Global. I’m looking forward to working with the team, I want to get to know everyone as quickly as possible. We will be working together during pre-season testing and I am looking forward to getting behind the wheel of an Indy NXT car to gain experience. I hope I have a great season!”
Dennis got his first experience driving the Andretti team’s #28 Dallara yesterday during testing that began on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road circuit. The Indy NXT season kicks off on March 2, 2025 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
