We have already told you that several Formula 1 teams are interested in signing a contract with Franco Colapinto. At the FIA press conference in Sao Paulo, the Argentine driver was asked whether Williams was willing to let him go to join his rivals.
“I don’t think I’m the right person to ask that,” Franco Colapinto replied. – I just don’t know the answer. I believe that if Williams cannot provide me with a car, it is fine if they allow me to compete elsewhere and find a better option for me for the future.
But like I said, I’m not the right person to ask that. I should be the last person to ask such questions. This weekend I will be at Williams and will try to perform as well as I can.
Let’s see what the future has in store for me. Initially I was of the opinion that I would not compete in Formula 1 next year, so I try not to pay attention to any talk. But we’ll see.
I want to race in Formula 1. I made my debut late this season after being given a great opportunity at Williams thanks to James Vowles. The team believes in me and I got an opportunity that I never expected this year. I’m trying to do my best to prove that I deserve a place in Formula 1.
If I don’t compete next season, I hope I can do so in 2026 or 2027. I don’t feel any pressure and try to enjoy the moment.”
