We have already reported that the director of the Porsche LMDh factory program, Urs Kurathle, allowed Sebastian Vettel to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans marathon in 2025. In a new interview with RTL TV, the four-time world champion said that he would does not rule out a return to racing, but we are not talking about Formula 1.
Sebastian Vettel: “I’m certainly not thinking about Formula 1, but in the future I might drive another racing car. This could happen in 2025, but no decision has been made at this time.
People often ask me if I miss Formula 1. Sure, but there comes a time for every athlete when they have to start the next chapter. This happens to all of us at some point.”
Vettel answered a direct question about participating in Le Mans as part of the Porsche factory team: “It is possible. But if I agree to something, I must have certain basic ambitions and be willing to spend sufficient time on them. Of course, the WEC cannot be compared to Formula 1, which currently hosts 24 races per season. The figures are completely different in endurance races.”
