Horner: We are not ready to endanger Red Bull

Last week we quoted the words of Red Bull Racing head Christian Horner, who made it clear that the decision on the team’s partnership with Porsche has not yet been taken. According to Racingnews365, the deal has “stalled” as Porsche proposed to rethink the principles of decision-making in the team after they became a power plant supplier.

This proposal was reportedly not with Red Bull, as the company fears they could lose control of the team. Christian Horner indirectly confirmed this in the stage in Zandvoort.

“Red Bull has always been an independent brand and we are an independent team and have always acted according to these principles,” said Horner. “This approach allows us to remain flexible, act quickly and efficiently. It’s part of the Red Bull DNA.

Of course, developing your own motorcycle is a new and completely different challenge. We are willing to collaborate with other companies on this project if it makes sense to us. However, we must not forget that the Formula 1 team is Red Bull’s greatest marketing asset in the world. Why put him at risk in the long run?”
