Nicholas Latifi is the only driver to have completed every race this season without scoring points. 1996 World Champion Damon Hill believes that the Canadian does not deserve a contract for next season because of such results.
Damon Hill: “I’m sorry to say this, but these are the facts. Nicholas really doesn’t have the pace needed to stay in Formula 1 as the lead driver. Yes, he had some good races, but at Monza a man who had never raced a Grand Prix got behind the wheel of exactly the same car and did a fantastic job.
I understand that Nick de Vries was helped by his opponents’ penalties, but he still performed well in qualifying and avoided mistakes. Nick has done enough to get people talking about him and getting attention. That’s the way to go if you want to be a Formula 1 driver.”
