Former Chelsea FC communications director Steve Atkins will take up a similar position at McLaren from December 1.
Atkins worked for Chelsea for 14 years and before that he was deputy press secretary at the British embassy in Washington. Atkins was voted the most powerful press officer in British football in 2020, 21 and 22.
McLaren Racing CEO Zach Brown said: “Communication has never been more important than it is today as we strive to deliver on our ambitious growth plans.
Steve has a fantastic background in sports and government communications which will be invaluable to us on related matters. I know he will be a great fit for the team and look forward to seeing him come and help create a bright future for McLaren Racing.”
