Brazilian Trident driver Gabriel Bortoleto set the fastest time on the second day of Formula 3 testing in Jerez. Just like the day before, the fastest result was achieved in the morning session.
The first best time in the morning session was shown by Zack O’Sullivan. At the end of the first hour, red flags appeared on the track due to Taylor Barnard’s exit in Turn 10.
The riders soon got back to work, but an hour and a half before the end of the session, tests were again halted – this time Robert Faria flew out in turn eight. His car was quickly cleared from the gravel and the tests continued. In the closing minutes, Gabriel Bortoleto set the fastest time with a lap time of 1:29.554 seconds.
After the lunch break, the riders returned to the track. The session was soon interrupted by red flags due to an exit by Hugh Barter at Turn 8. Testing had to be halted twice more until the end of the day – due to the departure of yesterday’s leader Gabriele Mini at Turn 8 and Taylor Barnard in the tenth. At the end of the day, José-Maria Martí set the fastest time with a lap time of 1:31.324 seconds.
Nikita Bedrin was seventeenth and twenty-second respectively, after completing a total of 64 laps in two sessions during the day. On Friday, Jerez will host the final day of testing.
