On Saturday night, Washington beat Winnipeg 4-1 at home. Ovechkin scored two goals. Now the Russian has 802 NHL goals and is second in the league’s list of top marksmen. Ovechkin edged Gordie Howe, who scored 801 goals. Wayne Gretzky is the all-time leading scorer in NHL history with 894.
The NHL didn’t name the other stars of the day, leaving only the Russian forward on the top list.
