Alexander Ovechkin expressed his condolences after the death of Pelé

Forward and captain of the hockey club “Capitals of Washington” Alexander Ovechkin expressed his condolences on the social network after the death of the three-time football world champion Pele .

Pelé died Thursday at the age of 82 after battling colon cancer. Earlier it became known that the Brazilian’s body stopped responding to chemotherapy.

“RIP King,” Ovechkin wrote.

Pelé is the only three-time football world champion (1958, 1962, 1970). He played 92 games for Brazil and scored 77 goals. At club level, the striker played for Brazilian Santos and New York Cosmos.
