Romanov’s assist didn’t save Islanders from loss in Montreal game

Russian defender “New York Islanders” Alexander Romanov scored an assist in the game against Montreal (3:4 OT) in the NHL regular season.

With the score 2:2, Romanov helped Matt Martin. Note that the Russian, before moving to the Islanders, played for Montreal.

Also at the New York club, Russian goalkeeper Semyon Varlamov played, scoring 27 shots on his own goal. “Montreal” striker Yevgeny Dadonov also scored an assist.

In other matches, Edmonton edged Ottawa (6:3), Calgary faced Buffalo (7:2) confidently, Detroit was stronger than Vancouver (5:2) and Nashville ”in overtime secured a victory over Philadelphia (2:1 OT). In none of these matches were Russian hockey players marked by productive actions.
