Striker “Salavat Yulaev” Yevgeny Timkin admitted to RB Sport that he was very proud to play with his former Metallurg partners Danis Zaripov And Vasily Koshechkin who during these months announced their retirement from the sport.
Zaripov played the final match on February 24, and Koshechkin announced his retirement from the sport on March 27.
— Your former partners from Metallurg Magnitogorsk Danis Zaripov and Vasily Koshechkin have ended their careers. How did you take this news?
– I called them both, congratulated on a brilliant career. Many may envy such successes in hockey. They are great guys, they set the bar very high, broke records. They are the legends of our hockey. I am very proud to have played with them in the same team and to have won Cups together. Thank you very much for sharing the experience with me. In turn, I will try to transmit this knowledge to young people.
– How exactly was their experience useful to you?
How and how much to work. And they are also open and honest people who are never in conflict with anyone. It is always comfortable to communicate with them.
– Didn’t the fact that Zaripov organized his production of hockey sticks surprise you?
— Danis is the kind of person who wants to succeed everywhere. It’s a good character trait. Bravo, he does everything correctly and competently.
Koshechkin is the winner of the Olympics, the world championship and also the double winner of the Gagarin Cup.
Zaripov is a three-time world champion and five-time Gagarin Cup winner (three times with Ak Bars, twice with Metallurg).
