Olympic champion Pavel Datsyuk has told that his farewell match could take place in Yekaterinburg, but there are no exact dates at this time.
On Wednesday, 42-year-old Danis Zaripov’s farewell match took place in Kazan, Datsyuk took part in it. The 45-year-old Datsyuk’s last club was Avtomobilist, for whom he played in 2019-21. In March, Avtomobilist director Maxim Ryabkov told that Datsyuk was a player development manager.
– Did you like Zaripov’s farewell match? Your emotions?
– Excellent conduct and organization of the game. It was a very good evening. I understand that such matches are very difficult for those who organize them. At the same time, everyone remembers how the hero of the day spoke, what he did on the ice.
– It always seemed to me that Zaripov was the same resourceful hockey player as Datsyuk. Accept?
– We have a lot of such people in Russia – virtuosos, as they call us. And above all, we tried to play smart hockey. And for the team. Zaripov has always been an advantage and a gain for any team.
– Too bad we haven’t seen Pavel Datsyuk’s farewell match yet.
– And who said Datsyuk wouldn’t do that? He can.
– And or?
– In Yekaterinburg.
Is it a question of organization?
“There is a time for everything,” Datsyuk told .
Datsyuk is the only hockey player in history who entered the Triple Golden Club (gold at the Olympics, World Championship, Stanley Cup victory) and won the Gagarin Cup.
