Canadian Chelyabinsk “tractor” defender Robert Hamilton said he had only pleasant impressions of people in Russia.
Last season, Hamilton played in 32 KHL regular season games, scoring three goals and providing 15 assists.
What are your impressions of people in Russia?
“Only pleasant impressions. Everyone around me treats me with respect. In general, I don’t see big differences between Russians and Canadians.
– But what about the well-known opinion that Russians smile a little?
– In Russia, of course, people smile less on the street. But in person, people are very friendly. I would like to point out how our languages differ. For example, in Russia, you simply say to the waitress: “Girl! and in Canada: “Sorry…Excuse me…”. and much more. Russian is a more direct and concrete language, and in English you explain yourself with a lot of words, RB Sport quotes Hamilton as saying.
The new KHL season begins on September 1.
