Anton Khudobin: “American friends will follow me one hundred percent in the Falcon”

Goalie Anton Khudobin said his friends from America would watch the games “Falcon” after the goalkeeper’s transition to the Krasnoyarsk club.

On Monday, the 37-year-old goalkeeper joined the All-Russian Hockey League (VHL) club as a free agent. The last Russian club was the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL).

– Positive emotions. I signed a contract in the city that has become my home. Very happy to play at home. I already live in Krasnoyarsk, so everything is fine and wonderful. I enter the game stream, the season has started. Only positive thoughts.

– You have been training with Sokol out of season for more than one season. Was the preparation for the season different this time around?

– Yes, this time the preparation was more difficult, because it is difficult to train without knowing which team you will be in next. Without a contract in hand, you don’t understand what you’re preparing for. In fact, it is not easy in terms of system and emotional load. After three and a half months of training so everything is fine. With Sokol, everything is always positive, because, as already mentioned, I have been training off-season with this team for several years.

– Now, many people say that Sokol’s goalkeeping team is one of the strongest in the VHL, and your transfer is one of the most important in the league…

“Journalists and experts exist to talk. And we have to go out on the ice.

– Do you think someone across the ocean will follow your game aboard the Falcon?

– Yes, friends from America will follow one hundred percent. They have already said they subscribe to Sokol and will watch.

– Will your transition add spectators to the stands?

– Given that last season the stands were already full, I hope this championship will be the same. We look forward to the fans at the games and will be happy to see them! – quotes the words of Khudobin the press service of the club.

From 2018 to 2022, Khudobin played for the Dallas Stars, with whom he reached the 2020 Stanley Cup Finals, where he lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning (2-4).

Also in the NHL, the goalie played for the Minnesota Wild, Boston Bruins, Carolina Hurricanes and Anaheim Ducks. In total, he played 260 league matches and won 114 wins. As a member of the Russian national team, he became world champion in 2014.
