The Kherson team retains a theoretical chance of reaching the final if Sokol misfires
Dnieper beat Trident in the group round Ukrainian Hockey Cup – 4:2.
The Kherson team managed to open the scoring in the minority, but the Kiev team immediately restored equality by converting the majority. In the second period, Dnepr achieved a decisive advantage by scoring two goals. In the final 20 minutes the teams exchanged goals.
The Kherson team played their second match, while the Kiev team played the first match. A day earlier, Dnepr lost to Sokol in a shootout.
The Kherson team scored four points and led Group A, maintaining a theoretical chance of reaching the finals. The fate of first place will be decided in the match Trizub – Sokol on September 15. The second finalist will be determined based on the results of the meeting between Kremenchuk and Kyiv Capitals.
