Lawyer Andrei Knyazev, in an interview with a correspondent, shared his opinion on whether the hockey player could CSKA Pavel Karnaukhov obtain a military identity card in Russia if a native of Minsk has dual citizenship.
“Of course not, he must be registered here. If I understand correctly, he was lucky not to show a special military ID card anywhere. If you keep a fake military ID or fake passport at home and don’t show it to anyone, there is no liability. If he presented it to the military registration and enlistment office, then there will be liability.
If I understand correctly, he did not have time to present a military ID, so the responsibility in the first place should lie with whoever did it.
However, dual citizenship is not a reason to postpone and not do military service,” Knyazev said.
Previously SHOT telegram channel reported that in 2017, Karnaukhov bought a military ID card in Ufa from former police officer Farit Samigullin for 37,000 rubles. Samigullin was arrested in April this year for illegally helping to buy military tickets.
Karnaukhov is 25 years old. Last season he played 22 games for CSKA in the Gagarin Cup and scored 9 (4+5) points.
