Ak Bars forward Maxim Bykov spoke about the changes in the team with the arrival Zinetuly Bilyaletdinov for the position of head coach.
Bilyaletdinov led the Kazan team for the third time in December 2022. Previously, he coached Ak Bars from 2004 to 2011 and then from 2014 to 2019.
“He was able to unite the team even more. We simply had to continue working, everyone understood that. That’s why we reached the final, the seventh match against CSKA. Yes, it almost didn’t work, but we were one team, where everyone worked for each other,” Bykov said, as quoted by Metaratings.ru.
Last season, Ak Bars reached the Gagarin Cup final, where they lost to CSKA in a seven-match series.
