Former Russian national hockey player Yevgeny Artiukhin did not fully realize his playing potential, said Honored Russia coach Yuri Novikov.
Artyukhin ended his playing career in 2022.
— You have to understand how to use a player, with which partners to release him. A lot of our guys didn’t get open just because they weren’t used properly. Here I always remember the example of Artyukhin. If coaches used his strong qualities, he would play like Jagr,” Novikov said according to RB Sport.
Artyukhin played for teams such as Vityaz, Tampa, Anaheim, Atlanta, SKA, Atlant, Sibir, Neftekhimik, Dynamo Moscow, CSKA and Admiral.
