The striker has been playing for Lokomotiv since August 2021. Last season, he played 85 matches for the club and scored 42 (22+20) points with a utility indicator of “+21”.
Shalunov was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the fourth round, 109th overall, in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, but did not play in a single NHL game. Previously he played for Traktor, Sibir and CSKA.
