Athletistic / Hockey. Dallas Stars general manager Jim Nill has spoken about signing Russian defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin. The 30-year-old Russian left the Toronto Maple Leafs and joined the Sheriffs as a free agent.
“Ilya will bring experience and strength to Dallas. He is a great, physically developed defender. We are happy to have signed him for the next three seasons,” Nill quotes.
Dallas signed Lyubushkin to a three-year contract and his salary was $3.25 million per season.
Ilya Lyubushkin played in the NHL for Toronto, the Anaheim Ducks, the Buffalo Sabres and the Arizona Coyotes. In total, the Russian NHL defenseman has 352 games and 47 performance points – five goals and 42 assists with an overall utility indicator of “- 33.”
