Athletistic / Hockey. Washington Capitals captain and forward Alexander Ovechkin has said whether he will return to Russia after his career ends. The 38-year-old Russian has been playing in the NHL since the fall of 2005.
“After I finish my career, there will be nothing to keep me in the USA? Well, not only to keep me, it’s just that all my friends, all my relatives are in Russia And Nastina’s (wives. – Note Athletistic) relatives are there too. At the moment, I feel more comfortable in Russia than in the United States. Now, if, say, the NHL season ends, we want to go home right away, because we miss home, family and friends,” Ovechkin said in an interview on the YouTube channel of blogger Amiran Sardarov.
Alexander Ovechkin has scored 853 regular-season goals in 19 NHL seasons and is the second-leading sniper in league history. He is now 41 shots shy of Wayne Gretzky’s record. In Russia, Ovi has played exclusively for Dynamo Moscow.
