Athletistic / Hockey. Forward Nail Yakupov has decided where to continue his career. The 30-year-old Russian has become a player of Kunlun Red Star.
According to Sport-Express, Yakupov will sign a one-year contract with the Chinese club – until May 31, 2025.
In the 2023/2024 season, Nail Yakupov played for Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk. In 31 games of the KHL regular season, the forward scored 19 (8+11) points using the goal+assist system.
Previously, Yakupov played in the KHL for Omsk Avangard, with whom he won the Gagarin Cup, Khabarovsk Amur and SKA St. Petersburg. In 2012, Yakupov was selected by the Edmonton Oilers with the first pick in the draft. In North America, the Russian also managed to play for the St. Louis Blues and the Colorado Avalanche.
It is worth noting that for the past four years, Kunlun has played home matches in Mytishchi (Moscow region).
