Russian coach “Dallas” Stanislav Tugolukov spoke about his work with the team’s hockey players Joe Pavelski Jamie Benn and Tyler Séguin.
In the summer of 2024, Pavelski, 40, announced his professional retirement.
— What is it like to work with such masters?
— If we talk about Joe Pavelski, he is of course a unique player in this regard. He had a great sense of goal and could be in the right place at the right time. But he worked very hard. 15-20 minutes before practice, he can ask the defenders or one of the coaches to practice various skills: positioning the stick, finishing after a rebound, changing the direction of the puck, blocking the goalie’s visibility. In other words, he practiced these skills with a large number of repetitions.
If we talk about Tyler Seguin, I started working at the club the same season as him. He was then a fairly young guy who came from Boston. He won the Stanley Cup, but was still an insufficiently mature and mature player. But now he is one of the hardest-working hockey players. When you see that a player is not only talented, but also a hard worker, then, of course, it arouses respect. “I would like these guys to be rewarded by their sporting destiny: in the case of Tyler, so that he deserves to lift the Cup over his head again, and in the case of Jamie Benn, so that he wins the first Cup,” RB Sport quotes Tugolukov.
Tugolukov has worked for Dallas since 2013.
