Loginova – about the “Tolpar” case: “We have contacted the NCSA in order to appeal the decision concerning a number of athletes. It will take about 2 months.”

The Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) appealed to the National Center for Sports Arbitration (NCSA) to appeal several decisions in the doping case of Tolpara hockey players, said the head of the organization, Veronika Loginova, at .

In August 2023, the Ufa club announced that the Investigative Committee had opened a case regarding the discovery of doping among hockey players. On February 29, 2024, the RUSADA Anti-Doping Disciplinary Commission (DAC) recognized that seven Tolpar players had violated anti-doping rules and disqualified the athletes for one year, including the period of temporary suspension. On July 17, RUSADA announced that it had suspended 10 more Tolpara hockey players due to traces of meldonium in doping tests.

In April last year, RUSADA announced that it was investigating seven positive doping tests among Tolpara players, in whose samples meldonium was found.

— As you know, decisions have already been made in some cases, but we have turned to the NCSA to appeal these decisions regarding a number of athletes. Unfortunately, at this stage I cannot comment on anything, as the investigation is still ongoing and our department head is questioning the athletes and their entourage.

– How long will it take?

— About two months, after which the final point of this affair will be made.

— Is it RUSADA who is not satisfied with the punishment?

– Yes. In our opinion, the sanctions imposed in the case of a number of athletes do not correspond to the circumstances that we found during the investigation of the case,” Loginova told .

In August, the press service of the Clever Consult law firm, which represents the interests of athletes, announced that the RUSADA anti-doping disciplinary commission had lifted the temporary suspension of Tolpara hockey players.
