The Odessa club continues its winning streak
Odessa Storm defeated Kremenchug (3:1) in a home match Ukrainian hockey championship.
Already during the first period, Storm scored twice – first, Nikita Sidorenko scored a goal, after which Sergei Stetsyura scored an accurate shot.
In the second 20 minutes, Sidorenko scored a double, to which Kremenchug responded with only one goal from Denis Matusevich in the third period.
Let us remind you that the newly created Storm won the 2024 Ukrainian Cup in September, winning three matches during the tournament. In the national championship, Odessa residents also do not yet know the bitterness of defeat – in the opening match they beat Sokol in a shootout.
Despite the fact that the hockey championship has finally started, there is still a crisis in the management of Ukrainian hockey. Let us remind you that in September there was a split in the FHU. An event called the “General Congress of the Ukrainian Hockey Federation” was held in Kremenchug, at which Sergei Mazur was elected as the new president of the organization. However, this congress and its decisions did not receive official status – Gennady Zubko is still listed as the head of the FHU in the Ministry of Justice register.
Storm will play their next match on November 9 against the Kyiv Capitals, and Kremenchug will play against Ledinka on the same day.
