Russian hockey player Maxim Makarov has been disqualified for 20 months for violating anti-doping rules, according to the website of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA).
Morphine was found in the hockey player’s sample. The 30-year-old hockey player’s suspension began on December 21, 2023 and will end on August 21, 2025.
In the 2011/12 season, Makarov began playing for Yaroslavl Loko in the Youth Hockey League, after which he defended the colors of Ryazan, SKA-Neva and St. Petersburg Dynamo, Perm Molot-Prikamye, Chinese Kunlun and “Tseng Tou”.
During the 2018/19 season, Makarov moved to France and started playing for the Chambéry club. In 2020, he signed a contract with Marseille.
