The State Duma is happy that Ovechkin returned to training on the ice after a broken leg

State Duma Deputy Dmitry Svishchev reacted to the fact that the Russian hockey player “Washington” Alexander Ovechkin resumed training on the ice.

On November 22, it was learned that Ovechkin, 39, would be out for four to six weeks due to a fractured left fibula. The hockey player was injured during the NHL regular season match against Utah (6:2). On Monday, video surfaced online of the Capitals captain taking the ice for the first time since his injury during an individual workout.

— Congratulations to Alexandre on his return to training! We are confident that after his injury, Ovechkin will continue to delight Russians and Americans with his goals, assists and play. There is no doubt that he will break Wayne Gretzky’s record and become the top scorer in the history of the NHL! But more importantly, we wish him health,” Svishchev said, as quoted by RB Sport.

Ovechkin has scored 15 goals this season. In total, he has 868 goals in regular NHL championships, according to this indicator he is second only to Canadian Wayne Gretzky (894).
