Russian goalkeeper Rangers Igor Shesterkin will play in the new NHL season wearing a mask with the image of the national symbol of the United States – the Statue of Liberty, reports his club’s press service on Twitter.
The mask displays the 31st number. The helmet itself is made in red-white-blue colors.
Last season, the New York Rangers with 26-year-old Shesterkin reached the Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Finals. The goalie played in 20 NHL playoff games, saving 92.9% of shots.
His goals-per-game average is 2.59.
