European track cycling champion Lev Gonov set a Russian record in the individual race at the national championship, which is held in St. Petersburg.
Gonov set a qualifying record – 4 minutes 04.258 seconds. In the final he won with a score of 4:06.181, Ivan Smirnov was second (4:08.808) and Ivan Novgorodsky was third (4:10.439).
Among women in this discipline, the first and second were respectively the representatives of the Belarusian national team Anna Terekh (3.32.138) and Anastasia Kiptikova (3.36.405), the third place was taken by the Russian Valeriya Valgonen (3.34 .666).
Also in St. Petersburg, medals are awarded in sprint disciplines, but in the ranking of All-Russian competitions. The sprint was won by Nikita Kalashnik, Alexander Dubchenko and Alexander Sharapov second and third respectively.
