Greek Kirsanidis and Swedish Tibbling became the first parkour world champions

Greece’s Dimitrios Kirsanidis won gold in the discipline of freestyle at the first-ever parkour world championship in Tokyo.

In the final, the 27-year-old scored 26.0 points. Second place was taken by Chinese Teng Gaozheng (25.5), bronze went to Italian Davide Rizzi (24.5).

In the “speed” discipline, Sweden’s Miranda Tibbling won the race in 32.82 seconds. Stephannie Navarro of Spain won silver at 35.03 while Lilu Ruel of France was third at 35.65.

The competitions are organized under the auspices of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG). The tournament has been postponed from 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
