Skater Milyukov told how he passed a false positive test for coronavirus at the 2022 Olympics

Belarusian figure skater Konstantin Miliukov said that during the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, he received a positive test result for coronavirus, which turned out to be false.

At the Games, Milyukov took 20th place with a total of 222.2 points for both programs.

– For me, it was probably too special a start, because it was so difficult with these covid measures. Also, when I flew there, I tested positive, a slight panic began. Even though I had confidence in myself, because before the flight I took three tests, and they were all negative. This test ended up being a false positive. I lost a day of training – it was, of course, unpleasant. Probably, everything got a bit hectic, and it’s hard to say what the atmosphere was like there, Milyukov told the “Championship”.

Milyukov, 28, played for Russia until 2019, after which he changed his sporting citizenship to Belarus. The figure skater has retired from his competitive career and is currently a coach.
