Athletistic/ Others. Nine European countries opposed the participation of the Olympic Committees of Russia and Belarus in the General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC).
The list of opponents to the participation of Russians and Belarusians in ANOC includes the Olympic Committees of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Norway and Sweden. The countries’ protest was reported by the official website of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Norway.
At the same time, the Norwegians themselves emphasize that they have taken a neutral position on the issue and that their participation in the General Assembly will not depend on whether Russia and Belarus are allowed to do so.
