Novosibirsk “Locomotive” reached a new agreement with the blocking Ilyas Kurkaev according to the volleyball club’s website.
The contract with the 28-year-old is for three years.
– I’m happy to stay in my home team – it’s a great joy. Many factors came into play – a coach who constantly improves, a great team and understanding management.
The club has trusted me for many years. I have the impression that with each season this confidence only grows, but so do the tasks. Now we have to recover, so we will only fight for the podium,” Kurkaev said.
Kurkaev graduated from the Novosibirsk Volleyball School. As part of Lokomotiv, he became the champion of Russia, as well as a multiple winner of the national championship. With the Russian team, the blocker won silver at the Tokyo Olympics, won the Nations League and the European Championship.
