Figure skater Alexander Golubev commented on his victory at the Russian Grand Prix in Perm as a junior.
Golubev, following the results of the short and free programs, showed a result of 229.30 points. Second place was taken by Andrey Kutovoy (228.22), third was Kirill Kropylev (223.26).
– It’s good that I won, I’m happy with myself. It didn’t all work out today. If we take the technical part, then it’s normal, but according to the second assessment, neither I nor the coaches liked a lot of things. Today I focused specifically on jumping to get everything done properly. I haven’t skated or competed for a long time due to injury. Internship in Moscow was the first outing for me. Unfortunately, it didn’t work. But we worked, and now – it’s better.
Now I train in St. Petersburg at the school named after Tamara Nikolaevna Moskvina under the guidance of Veronika Daineko. Why did you move to Saint Petersburg? It happened three or four months ago. Veronika Anatolyevna is a very experienced coach, I like working with her. Progress is being felt. I deliberately went towards her.
I have no competition with Pierre Gumennik . This athlete is an order of magnitude bigger than me. I just followed him. I moved to St. Petersburg alone, but my parents, mom and dad, come to help me,” Golubev told reporters.
