Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitri Chernychenko congratulated the double Olympic medalist Kliment Kolesnikov with a new world record.
Chernyshenko in Kazan visited the last day of the Russian Short Course Swimming Championship, which is included in the program of the Friendship Games.
Kolesnikov broke the world record in the 50m backstroke and won the 100m freestyle on Friday. After the award, Chernyshenko came to the training area, met Kolesnikov and congratulated him on the record, the press service of the All-Russian Swimming Federation reported.
Earlier, the International Swimming Federation (FINA) announced that Kolesnikov’s record would be ratified in general.
