Ukrainian gave an experienced opponent only five games
Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya advanced to the second round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai (UAE).
The Ukrainian confidently defeated the Frenchwoman Alize Cornet in straight sets. Yastremska lost one game on her serve, but made four breaks in return. The fight lasted 73 minutes.
Yastremska will play in the second round of the WTA 1000 tournament for the first time since April last year. Then the Ukrainian reached the second round at the tournament in Madrid. Also, Dayana won three matches in a row for the first time since that tournament.
In the second round, Yastremskaya’s opponent will be the winner of the match between Angelina Kalinina and Veronika Kudermetova.
Recall that Marta Kostyuk and Katarina Zawatskaya will also perform in the main draw of the tournament in Dubai.
