Khudzhamov: I gave my passport for a visa to England, and it will be as it will be there

The coach has not yet been guaranteed a place in the national team of Ukraine

Former goalkeeper of Mariupol and Shakhtar Rustam Khudzhamov spoke about the opportunity to enter the coaching staff national team of Ukraine.

“I know that Sergei Rebrov was offered, he agreed, and after that the whole process followed.

They called me from the national team, they just asked if I had a visa. Nobody gave any hope. In principle, I myself don’t particularly … If there are such hopes, then if they do not come true, they can shake your inner world. Now, when you have actually arrived, you are training on the field with the emblem of the national team on your chest, you can say that you are already here.”

“And so, I gave my passport for a visa. I haven’t talked to Sergei Stanislavovich yet. Therefore, I prepare, and there it will be as it will be. I will be very happy and will do everything to make the goalkeepers look better in goal.

Earlier it was reported that Khudzhamov could join the coaching staff of Sergei Rebrov in the Ukrainian national team. Rustam should take over as goalkeeping coach.

Recall that Khudzhamov ended his football career in 2020. Rustam also worked as a goalkeeping coach in Zhytomyr Polissya and an expert at TK Football.

The contract of the head coach of the national team Alexander Petrakov ended on December 31, and the UAF decided not to continue cooperation. Rebrov is called the main candidate for the vacant position.

According to the results of the recent draw, the Ukrainian national team will play in Group C against Italy, England, North Macedonia and Malta in the Euro 2024 qualifying tournament. The Blue-Yellows will play their first match in the selection on March 26 against England at Wembley.
