World Aquatics has reacted to the recommendations of the IOC Executive Committee on the possible participation of Russians in the competitions

The International Swimming Federation World Aquatics continues to closely monitor developments affecting the situation with the participation of Russians and Belarusians in international competitions.

The Executive Committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has issued recommendations on the possible participation of Russians in international tournaments, which include individual admission and neutral status. At the moment, Russians are suspended from participating in tournaments under the auspices of World Aquatics in the context of the situation in Ukraine.

— World Aquatics continues to carefully examine the events that affect the situation with the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in international competitions. Further updates will be provided as needed,” the World Aquatics press service told .

The federation’s statement notes that World Aquatics continues to provide support to Ukrainian athletes, in particular, they receive it from the European Swimming League (LEN), in terms of training and participation in competitions.
